About these space patterns

Black aida is space. Nothing else needs saying about why these work: a planet is a circle, a ring is an ellipse, a star is a single stitch, and the void around them is the fabric you leave bare. A chart that would be mostly background on white is mostly nothing to do on black.

Drawn in the flat, cel-shaded style of mid-century science posters — a ringed planet with two moons, a retro rocket with fins, an astronaut waving, a comet with a long tail, the solar system in a row, a binary star — in a few strong colours each, so none of them is a long project.

Whole cross stitch only, no backstitch or fractional stitches. Every square carries a symbol as well as colour so the chart prints in black and white, and the floss key lists real DMC numbers with skein counts.

Are these space cross stitch patterns suitable for a beginner?

Yes. Every chart in this collection is whole cross stitch only — no backstitch, no quarter or three-quarter stitches and no french knots. If you can sew one X over one square of aida you can finish any of them. Every chart is 130 stitches square, finishing at about 9¼ inches on 14-count aida; what varies between them is the number of floss colours.

What is included in the space pattern download?

A PDF the moment you pay: the colour chart, the same chart again in black and white symbols so it prints legibly on any printer, a floss key naming real DMC shade numbers with how many skeins to buy, and the finished size worked out for 14, 16 and 18-count aida.

Do you post anything, or is it digital only?

Digital only. No fabric, floss or hoop is included and nothing is shipped. The download link does not expire, so the file stays available whenever you want it again.
